Sydney, 18th March 2021 – Located at the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Office in Sydney, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Australia and the Republic of Vanuatu, His Excellency Y. Kristiarto S. Legowo, accompanied by the Acting Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, Trade Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, and the Director of Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre witnessed the signing of the MoU between Business Auto Solutions Pty Ltd (BAS) as the Principal Distributor appointed by PT Pertamina Lubricants and ASV Euro Car Parts Pty Ltd (ASV).

The MoU was signed by the CEO of BAS, Mr. Christian Liadinata, and CEO of ASV, Mr. Vic Soghomonian, acknowledged by Australian Representative Manager of Pertamina Lubricants, Mr. Taufiq Setyawan.

In this MoU, Business Automotive Solutions Pty Ltd (BAS) as the Principal Distributor of Pertamina Lubricants in Australia appointed Euro Car Parts Pty Ltd (ASV) as the Distributor of Pertamina Lubricants products for the workshop market segment in Australia-wide and New Zealand.

In breaking through the Australian saturated market to compete with more than 50 local and global brands, BAS has had to re-strategize market approach by building a strong foundation of 300 workshop customers across Sydney Metro. This is a competitive landscape that differs from previously penetrated markets of Indonesia, like Thailand and Bangladesh.

“Australian market poses great challenges, yet greater opportunities for Pertamina Lubricants. We are more than ready to expand our market reach nationwide through collaboration with ASV,”Accelerating IA-CEPA For Automotive Industry, Indonesian Government Facilitated An MoU Worth AUD 6 Million said CEO of BAS, Mr. Christian Liadinata.

The signing of this MoU is real evidence that IA-CEPA has brought the two nations closer. “The Australian business community increasingly believes that Indonesian industry and products are worthy of being reckoned with in the Australian market,” said the Indonesian Ambassador to Australia, Kristiarto Legowo.

“The AUD 6 million MoU between BAS and ASV is a good start for Pertamina Lubricants to promote Indonesian products to the wider Australian market through the BAS and ASV networks,” said Kasan Muchri, General Director of National Export Development, Ministry of Trade.

ASV is an industry leader in the Australian auto parts market for more than 35 years with a presence nationwide and in New Zealand. Mr. Vic Soghomonian, CEO of ASV, has expressed ASV interest to collaborate with BAS in accelerating the expansion of Pertamina Lubricants in the workshop segment in Australia and New Zealand. He stated,” We’ve worked with lubricant manufacturers from many countries, but this is the first partnership with Indonesia.”

ASV’s extensive business network, infrastructure, and existing workshop customer base in all Australian states and New Zealand will be a significant support for BAS to expand Pertamina Lubricants business in Australia at a full accelerated speed. The official operations of ASV as an Distributor of Pertamina Lubricants in the workshop segment nationwide and New Zealand will commence on 1st April 2021.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Mr. Kushan Jayarathne, CFO of ASV, along with Mr. Luke King as the Brand Ambassador of Pertamina Lubricants, Mr. Andry Wijaya as COO of BAS, Mr. Maurizio Lapa as the Business Development Manager of BAS, and other Indonesian businessman representatives.
